Brian Blankenship

B-ography

Brian is a creative leader with roots in both graphic design and in the earliest days of the internet, having worked on the cutting edge of the space since the late ‘90s. He joined Balcom in 2006 as a senior art director, then founded our interactive division two years later. He now heads a team of developers, collaborating with Balcom’s strategists, writers and art directors to build custom-designed, custom-coded websites for clients including the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Better With Dairy for Dairy MAX, and Mrs Renfro’s. His countless awards include Best of Interactive 2009, 2012, 2021, 2022 and 2026. Brian was also called a trendsetter in logo design by Graphic Design USA, with many inclusions in LogoLounge volumes and other publications. He previously worked at Shelton, Maverick Advertising and more, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in communication design from the University of North Texas. Originally from San Diego and raised in Texas, Brian now lives in Florida with his wife, their dog, Luna and one-eyed cat, Rocket. They have two grown children.

  • Brian originally went to Texas A&M University to major in biochemistry.
  • Brian once scuba-dived with sharks at 120 feet in Fiji, mountain biked in Moab, Utah and snow boarded the Cody Bowl in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
