Chris Hawthorne

B-ography

Chris set out to be a copywriter, but fell in love with the art and science of media planning during an internship at a small Dallas agency. With a Bachelor of Arts in journalism/advertising from the University of North Texas, she’s spent more than 25 years serving a broad range of clients – from startups to Fortune 500 companies – including brands in entertainment such as Dave & Buster’s and Six Flags; nonprofits like the American Heart Association; and many others in food/packaged goods, telecommunications, travel and finance. Chris’s experience spans traditional and digital media and she has a passion for omni-channel planning with a focus on ROI. Chris has earned a MediaPost Magazine Creative Media Award for Texas Tourism, plus several Dallas-Fort Worth Interactive Marketing Association (DFWIMA) Excellence in Interactive Marketing Awards and W3 awards for marketing effectiveness. In 2017, Chris joined the Balcom team to work her media magic for clients such as Smith+Nephew (Advanced Wound Management), Dairy MAX and Sinclair Oil. Originally from Fort Worth, Chris and her husband, Gary, now live in Grapevine with their son, a cat named Squeaky, and the family dog, Raven.
