Oh Baby! Balcom Takes Home Nine Healthcare Advertising Awards

At Balcom, we serve clients in many industries – from food and beverage to business services, nonprofits and health care. Sometimes our work affects the littlest ones among us, and sometimes it proposes a possible solution to a personal health problem. Either way, our team is eager to get it right for clients and the people they serve.

That’s one reason we’re proud to announce that our work with Norman Regional Health System, a multi-campus system in south central Oklahoma, earned nine awards at the recent 39th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards. With more than 4,400 entries submitted from over 200 agencies and corporations across the nation, this competition ranks as one of the 10 largest advertising competitions in the country.

In 2022, Balcom’s work for Norman Regional received two gold, three silver and four merit awards. While we are incredibly proud of our people and our client’s work, we feel the inspiration behind it matters just as much. NORMAN REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM

WOMEN’S AND CHILDREN’S CAMPAIGN

You may have heard the news that a baby boom has been in the works the last few years. Back in 2020, the OB-GYNs at Norman Regional predicted more “surprise” babies entering the world during the pandemic. When in-person visits stopped, our team and client sought to help new and expecting parents feel comfortable about one day visiting a space they had never physically entered. Balcom took nerves and worries into consideration, developing an online, mobile-friendly campaign featuring expressive baby faces and sharp copy. We emphasized the health system's high-quality, family-centered obstetric care and relied on photos of adorable little ones to calm and encourage.

HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS CAMPAIGN

Weight loss is often recommended for improved health, particularly around certain conditions. This digital media and print campaign for Norman Regional focused on addressing existing stigmas surrounding losing weight with supportive messaging that emphasizes “changing your weight won’t change you.” Our creative team chose bright colors to create warmth and helped patients visualize themselves as the successful people they are while acknowledging they may be looking to make a change and Norman Regional has all the support they need.

ORTHOPEDICS CAMPAIGN

The Ortho Central medical team works with patients of all ages, having a strong presence in school athletics while also catering to weekend warriors and senior enthusiasts. To connect with this multigenerational audience, Balcom developed an eye-catching campaign featuring skeletal X-ray designs and clever headline copy.
