Balcom Agency hires Margaret Ritsch to head public relations division

Fort Worth, TX – Jan. 21, 2008 – The Balcom Agency, Fort Worth’s largest advertising agency, has hired Margaret Ritsch to oversee its public relations practice.

Previously Ms. Ritsch was director of public affairs for the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. At Balcom she is responsible for building the public relations side of the agency, as well as working directly with clients – handling everything from strategic planning to speech-writing and news media outreach.

Ms. Ritsch holds a M.A. in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary. A native of South Carolina, she brings to the agency nearly 20 years public relations and marketing communications experience. She co-authored the original Insider’s Guide to Virginia’s Blue Ridge, edited Money Matters: A Reporter’s Guide to School Finance for the Education Writers Association, and won a first-place award in investigative reporting from the Virginia Press Association while a reporter at The Winchester Star in Virginia.

“With Margaret’s presence, we are in a strong position to continue our growth in the public relations side of the agency as we enter our 15th year of operations,” said Stuart Balcom, agency president.
