Rude Cactus

Happy Blogiversary to my friend, Chris of RudeCactus.com!

Today, Chris celebrates his 6th blogiversary. I've been fortunate enough to be around for four of those six years. He's witty, intelligent and utterly delightful – definitely a good read and an asset to your feed reader.

Go ahead and toodle over to his place to wish him Happy Blogiversary. Everybody enjoys a little internet love.

Fact Friday: Shoes

If you gave me the choices of a $600 Christian Louboutin pumps or $15 Mossimo ballet flats, I'm probably going to take the flats. Am I crazy? Probably. But I'm also insanely practical and secure in my simple yet unfortunate style.

iPhone Regret?

If you're been hanging around here for any amount of time, you'll know I was hesitant to switch from a Blackberry to the iPhone. I made the switched and have been pleased as punch. My wee iPhone provides me with much merriment. Sure, its battery life down-right sucks, but as a whole – it's quite the charmer.

Until yesterday.

Luckenbach, Texas

Lots of small towns in Texas are the same. Come to think of it, small towns might be the same everywhere. Main Street cuts the town in half. Downtown is littered with a handful of mom and pop shops that look so quaint, you find yourself wanting to go inside, even though you have absolutely no interest in their product.

Luckenbach is not that town.

I'll Do It Myself

I'm not strong enough. I'll never manage. It's going to be too hard. I can't lift it. I can't ever do it alone. Why? Because I'm a girl.

Fort Worthology

If you're from Fort Worth or if you've lived here any amount of time, I think you'd agree that it's not a very small town but retains its small town feel and charm. It's not uncommon for you to run into people you know when you're out running errands. It's full of unique details and quaint places that make people gush, "Ohmygosh, you have to go!" It is, by my standards, an ideal place to live.

Fact Friday: Maypearl, Texas

It's hard to believe that anybody could be excited about driving through a town with only two stores still open at 8 pm (both food venues), but I love it. Seriously.

Be a Kid

Merriam-Webster defines a motion picture "a series of pictures projected on a screen in rapid succession with objects shown in successive positions slightly changed so as to produce the optical effect of a continuous picture in which the objects move."

So many times, we settle into over-sized seats to watch stars grace the big screen. Will Smith teaches Kevin James to abandon his geekdom in an effort to captivate Amber Valletta which he ends up doing just by being himself. Daniel Radcliffee, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson team up to battle just about every bad thing that can exist in a land of witchcraft and wizardry. George Clooney and Brad Pitt (with their closest posse of friends) cheat casinos out of hefty sums of money.

iPhone: a review

I'm a new kid on the iPhone block. My iPhone sat in Anchorage, Alaska, for so many days that I was sure it wouldn't make it here by June 19th. But quickly, It went from Alaska to Kentucky to DFW Airport until it finally landed in my warm little hands before 9:00 am on Friday morning.

Fact Friday: Patagonia

If money was no object, I would do most (if not all) of my shopping at Patagonia, not necessarily because I need performance gear. I just think their things are really cute. Additionally, I would love to have one of their super warm, ultra light jackets instead of my huge coat, but it seems silly since my huge coat is new.
